Meet Jyoti: Carving her own path

Jyoti Prajapati, an 18-year-old moving with sincere dedication toward her dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant — a dream she holds close, believes in deeply, and is working for with quiet commitment. Jyoti is a true learner and an observer, someone who believes in learning from her environment, her interactions, and the people around her. She has learnt powerful lessons early in life, and her optimism, self-awareness, and caring heart make her journey even more beautiful.

Beyond her academics, Jyoti enjoys trekking, spending time with loved ones, listening to music, and watching movies. But what she values the most are meaningful relationships. She believes in having a few genuine people with whom she can be herself — people who care, support, and stand by her during difficult phases. It is a lesson she holds close and wishes to carry throughout her life.

What truly sets Jyoti apart is her way of looking at life and herself. She thinks independently, chooses for herself, and believes deeply in the power of independence — whether in her career, her aspirations, or her personal decisions. She understands how liberating it is for a girl to have agency, to make her own choices, and to explore her interests freely. This conviction comes from observing her own family’s journey, especially her mother’s transformation.

Jyoti’s journey is still just beginning, but the foundation she carries is strong.

When Jyoti was in 6th grade, she lost her father— a sudden, unexpected loss that changed everything for their once-happy family. She witnessed closely how life placed every responsibility on her mother overnight. Her mother, who had never stepped out alone and had lived within the restrictive norms set for women, suddenly had to face the world's judgments, stereotypes, and social stigma. Yet she stepped up with quiet strength. From being completely dependent to now single-handedly running her home, working through household chores, ensuring her four children receive a good education and better opportunities — her journey has been extraordinary. She not only sustained her family but also encouraged her daughters to dream big, choose their own paths, and grow into confident individuals.

This is why independence sits at the very core of Jyoti’s being. She feels deeply grateful to her mother and sister Nikita, who nurtured, guided, and supported her in choosing what she genuinely wants — not from pressure or fear but from her own interest, clarity, and inner calling. Their quiet, constant support and resilience form the backbone of her journey, and we celebrate them wholeheartedly.

Walking Through Challenges, Together

For single-mother-led families, social judgment and economic challenges rarely pause.

Choosing to live differently, adapt to the changing world, and raise daughters with freedom is still not received openly and gently everywhere. Sometimes it disrupts the household harmony and brings its own difficulties — emotional strain, conflict, and the constant need to protect one’s peace. Yet, Jyoti and her small family continue to move forward with collective strength, hope, and belief in doing good.

LOOKING AHEAD

Jyoti has truly come far while navigating the challenges that come her way every day. We are grateful to support her in this journey. She recently cleared her CAFoundation exam on her very first attempt and is now preparing with full focus for the next level. When she speaks of the future, she shares not only her dream of becoming a CA but also her heartfelt wish to contribute to the foundation in whatever way she can — just as it supported her when she needed it the most.

Mrs. Manju Dharmichand Prajapati, Jyoti’s mother

We respect and deeply value the richness in her way of thinking, relating, and expressing herself. Her story is incomplete without her mother, sister, and the cherished memories of her father. We express our gratitude to them for being her most supportive anchors and to all who have been her guiding strength!

We wish Jyoti the very best for all that lies ahead. We are rooting for her as she walks closer to her dreams with courage, steadiness, and quiet determination.
