Meet Siddhi: Wings of Hope
From reading a few pages of Wings of Fire in her school library to dreaming of a future in engineering, Siddhi’s story carries the strength of perseverance and possibility.
There are some children whose words carry a quiet strength beyond their age. Siddhi is one of them.
Having recently completed her 10th board examinations with an impressive 80%, Siddhi now stands at the threshold of a new beginning — preparing to step into 11th grade with dreams of becoming an engineer one day. But behind this achievement lies a journey woven with resilience, sincerity, and the unwavering love between a mother and daughter.
When Siddhi was only two years old, she lost her father. Since then, her mother raised her, running a small shop that serves as the family’s only source of income. Life has not been easy, but what stands out most in Siddhi’s story is not hardship — it is the dignity and positivity with which both mother and daughter continue to move forward.
Despite limited resources and no access to private tuitions or coaching classes, Siddhi remained deeply committed to her studies. She shares how after some of her board examinations, she would return home worried and emotional, feeling that the papers had not gone well. Yet, her mother would gently reassure her, asking her not to carry stress and to simply focus on giving her best.
And that is exactly what Siddhi did.
Without coaching classes, without extra academic support, but with discipline, determination, and sincerity, she scored 80% in her board examinations — something even she says she had not expected for herself. For her mother, however, it was a moment of immense pride and joy.
Today, both of them are looking ahead — searching and applying for good colleges and schools in Pune where Siddhi can continue her 11th and 12th education and move one step closer to her dream of becoming an engineer.
What makes Siddhi especially inspiring is the depth and maturity with which she sees the world. There is no complaint in her words. Instead, there is gratitude, responsibility, and a quiet commitment to create a better future for herself and her mother.
One conversation with Siddhi recently stayed deeply with us. She shared about reading Wings of Fire by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam from her school library. Because library access was limited, she could only read a few pages at a time during school hours. After examinations, the school closed for the holidays, leaving the book unfinished. Yet, the way she spoke about it revealed how deeply those pages had stayed with her
She reflected on how Dr Kalam’s journey made her feel that circumstances do not define one’s future — dedication and learning do. Even with incomplete access to the book, she carried its lessons fully in her heart. Listening to her speak about it felt less like hearing a child talk about a book, and more like hearing a young mind quietly shaping its vision for life.
Beyond academics, Siddhi also finds joy in drawing and art. In her free time, she sketches and creates, expressing herself with the same sincerity and patience she brings to her studies.
Her greatest inspiration remains her mother. A woman who never gave up despite life’s challenges, and who continues striving every day so her daughter can receive the education and opportunities she herself never had. It was this hope for her daughter’s future that led her to connect with the Emelie Foundation and seek support for Siddhi’s education.
Siddhi’s story reminds us that strength is often found in the simplest homes, in the quietest efforts, and in dreams that continue to rise despite every limitation around them.

She dreams of creating a more secure and peaceful life for her mother, whose sacrifices and unwavering support have shaped every step of her journey.
As she now prepares to begin her senior secondary education, carrying both courage and compassion within her, we hope Siddhi continues to soar — towards becoming the thoughtful, grounded, and inspiring human being she is already growing.
